With 14.6 GW of solar installations worldwide just this year, solar power has never been more popular. As new countries pass legislation to open up more markets to PV installations, the life of an installer becomes busier and busier. To combat the hectic schedules, SolarEdge developed 3 tools for its installers: the Side Design, Mapping and Configuration Tools. Read more »
Mr. Eitan Reem who lives in the peaceful Kfar Vradim village in northern Israel, wanted to join the constantly increasing community of home owners and farmers who install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on their roofs. He approached Solgal Energy, one of the leading PV installers in Israel who reviewed the house’s position and design and recommended the installation of a 4kW system on the southern façade of the roof. The Israeli FiT allows installation of systems up to 15kW on residential roofs, which prompted Dov Kotlar, Solgal’s CEO, to examine the possibility of utilizing the entire roof area to install a maximum capacity system. In recent posts we spoke about fire risks associated with PV systems and about the attractiveness of PV systems to thieves. Well, we’d like to mention one more menace… electric arcs. Read more »
Everybody loves solar! The green, clean, renewable energy is gaining acceptance, as more and more populations adopt it. It started with the innovators, who installed systems even when they were very expensive and less efficient than the systems today. In time, innovators were followed by home owners, land owners, farmers, investors, and now… thieves. Read more »

So by now almost everybody knows why solar energy is good (e.g. these 10 good reasons), but not many consider the potential risks related to traditional PV installations. It is important to remember that DC voltage is generated by PV panels as long as the sun is up, even when grid power is down. Read more »
Installing a PV solar system is an exciting opportunity to get energy from a free and natural energy source - our sun. But are we really getting the maximum power out of our PV installation? Read more »
Recently we’ve been privileged to take part in bringing light into people's lives in one of the world’s poorest regions.
