SolarEdge Technologies Receives U.S. Certification from Intertek

Hertzlia, Israel and Cortland, New York - October 27, 2009—SolarEdge Technologies, a provider of distributed power conversion electronics for PV, which increases solar power systems’ output by up to 25 percent, and Intertek (LSE: ITRK), a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services, have announced the completion of testing and certification of SolarEdge products for the North American market. Intertek performed the safety and grid connection testing according to the UL 1741 standard, and CSA C22.2 No. 107.1. Following the testing, the products received the ETL Mark for North America.

SolarEdge provides next generation power conversion electronics that effectively remove all known system constraints across the photovoltaic energy space. SolarEdge Technologies’ Smart DC technology – which includes the PowerBox module-level converters and SE-series grid-connected inverters – enables increased production of clean, grid-ready energy at a lower cost per watt than any other competitive offering.

“Having already completed certification in the European markets, we are now setting our sights on the rapidly growing North American markets, aiming to promote our solar power harvesting system, which can be embedded in practically all types of solar photovoltaic panels to maximize power generation while dramatically reducing costs,” said Guy Sella, Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of SolarEdge.  “It was our great pleasure to work with Intertek – they have put in much effort in order to successfully complete the testing. There was great teamwork between both companies, and we hope this is the first of many more fruitful collaborations.”

“Working closely with the team at SolarEdge, testing was completed in a record-breaking five weeks from receipt of samples,” notes Ann Ruggles, global business lead for Intertek’s renewable energy business. “It was a pleasure to work with SolarEdge and help them launch their products to market faster.”

Both companies plan on continuing the collaboration by testing and certification of SolarEdge’s future products.

Intertek and SolarEdge will be exhibiting at Solar Power International (SPI) 2009, America’s largest solar event, held in Anaheim, Calif., October 27-29, 2009.

About SolarEdge

SolarEdge is a provider of smart, holistic PV power harvesting and monitoring solutions for maximum energy at a lower cost per watt. The company works with industry-leading partners to embed its active electronic solution directly into PV panels. Unlike centralized architectures that cannot optimize the power of each panel, only SolarEdge performs MPPT per panel while communicating across existing power lines for granular visibility and control. As a result, the SolarEdge systemic approach provides more power from any given installation, eliminates design constraints, provides complete visibility, solves all safety issues and provides anti-theft, all while reducing the cost of energy.
